Partnerships are at the heart of NBISC's work
As a provincial, non-profit organization, we work collaboratively with government, environmental organizations, researchers, municipalities, industry, recreational groups, Indigenous communities, and local volunteers to help prevent the introduction and spread of invasive species across New Brunswick.
By working together, we can share knowledge, coordinate efforts, build local capacity, and extend the reach and impact of invasive species prevention initiatives throughout the province.

Examples of Partnership Projects
Zebra Mussel Prevention and Monitoring
NBISC works with government agencies, watershed organizations, researchers, municipalities, lake associations, and community volunteers to support coordinated Zebra Mussel prevention, monitoring, and early detection efforts across New Brunswick. Through partnerships, we support boat decontamination, eDNA sampling, collector plate monitoring, education, and public outreach to help protect New Brunswick's lakes and rivers.
Forest Health Monitoring
NBISC works with government agencies, municipalities, researchers, and community partners to support the early detection and monitoring of emerging forest invasive species. By coordinating outreach, sharing resources, and supporting surveillance efforts, we help strengthen New Brunswick's readiness for threats such as Hemlock Woolly Adelgid and Emerald Ash Borer.
Boot Brush Stations
Working with municipalities, conservation organizations, and land managers, NBISC supports the installation of boot brush stations and educational signage to help reduce the spread of invasive species along trails and in natural areas.
Community Stewardship and Monitoring
NBISC works with communities, volunteers, environmental organizations, and local partners to support stewardship, monitoring, and early detection initiatives across New Brunswick. Programs such as Water Watchers help build local capacity by engaging community members in protecting the places they care about while contributing to invasive species awareness, observation, and reporting.
Education and Outreach
NBISC partners with community organizations, schools, event organizers, and recreational groups to deliver invasive species education, training, workshops, and public outreach that encourage stewardship and behaviour change across New Brunswick.
