Reporting Invasive Species
If you see a plant, animal, or other organism that you suspect may be invasive, we encourage you to report it. Community observations play an important role in early detection, tracking the spread of invasive species, and helping partners better understand where species are occurring across New Brunswick.

Why Report?
Every report contributes to a better understanding of invasive species in New Brunswick.
Reports help improve distribution mapping, support early detection of emerging species, inform education and outreach efforts, and assist partners in monitoring invasive species across the province.
Please Note
Submitting a report does not initiate a site visit, removal, or management action by NBISC. NBISC does not provide invasive species removal services or regulatory enforcement.
Reports help improve our understanding of invasive species in New Brunswick and may be shared with partner organizations responsible for monitoring, research, management, or regulatory response, where appropriate.

Report Through iNaturalist
For most suspected invasive species, we encourage you to submit your observation through iNaturalist using the website or mobile app.
Reports submitted through iNaturalist help NBISC and partner organizations track the distribution of invasive species across New Brunswick and contribute to monitoring, education, planning, and management efforts.
Once submitted, observations can be reviewed by the iNaturalist community and species experts. NBISC receives notifications for invasive species observations and uses this information to better understand species distributions, identify emerging trends, support outreach initiatives, and share information with partners where appropriate.

Eurasian Watermilfoil (outside the Wolastoq/Saint John River watershed and tributaries)
Invasive Phragmites (outside the Moncton/Sackville area)
